Braking / Steering Issue

Hey guys,
Went to leave my house today and started the motor. Heard some kind of clunk and then the brakes barely worked and the truck would not steer. Kind of like it was stuck in park with no power brakes or steering. Checked the DTC codes to have U1412, C0028, U0412 and U0415 come up stating that the ABS control module has an issue. The truck said that the trailer brake system has an issue. 2 days before I had the battery light indicator come on and stay on for about 5 minutes. I can't drive the truck as it won't turn and braking is very difficult. I will call the dealer but hoping not to have to take it to them as I am supposed to go on vacation in 4 days. Any thoughts? I tried clearing the codes but the same problem still exists.

Is the belt still attached? That sounds like your accessory belt snapped.

Yep, all the belts are still attached. I had it towed to the dealer this morning. Hoping that they will be able to diagnose it today.

Braking/Steering Issues

Haven't heard from the dealer yet as to what's going on but on a possible good note, the wife said that if it can't be fixed by this Friday that it would be okay for me to buy a new truck as we are set to go out of town with our 5th wheel this weekend with family.

Epic! My wife is the reason I ended up with 2 Rams in the same day.

So my wife got her way and we bought a new truck. My water pump seized up and shredded my belt. I never saw it hanging under the truck as it wound its self around one of the pulleys. Dealer told me it would be 2-3 weeks before they got it fixed as they are 2 weeks out. Ultimately the dealer made me an offer I just couldn't refuse on a 2017 Ram 2500 with a better warrantee and payment. And I got to pick out the color. Sorry, my wife does not have a sister.

The mechanic told me that they've recently been having a lot of 2014-2016 Rams coming back with seized water pumps. He told me to watch my coolant levels and listen to the motor around the 30k mile mark. He said that he's seen them actually brake off and damage a whole lot more than the belt. The mechanic told me that it may become a recall soon if they continue to keep failing as it can be very dangerous to happen while driving.

Same thing happened to me. I had a 2010. Simple water pump and pulley change, bur glad you got taken care of.
