Factory Trailer Brake Controller

My truck didnt come with one but my dash has the empty slot where it would mount. I was wondering if anyone knows about installation for one? I would assume all the wiring is already equipped on my truck since i have the plugs already in the bumper stock but im not sure. Also i never noticed them on 09 trucks just 10-up. Anyone know about these? Or does anyone have one that has any feedback on them? Thanks!

I believe it's standard on 2010+ 2500-3500 trucks and an option on 2010+ 1500s. I think it will work on an 09, but you won't be able to integrate it into the EVIC.

yea the EVIC is slightly different in mine then newer trucks, which i dont understand why Dodge would do something like that. Im going to crawl under the dash and see if i have the 2 4-pin plugs taped off in my wiring harness

I did it in my '09 I can look up my notes and tell you colors and such if you would like. Shoot me a PM. It works great I usually use on 5.5 setting.

I believe so

Module is 56029431AG
Trailer brake pig tail is 56045795AB
Bezel is 1EB13XDVAA

Mine is black so module is the same for others but Bezel is not fyi.

Yes the module is always dark the bezel changes.

I have a new 2011 3500 Long Horn with the intregrated brake controller, Does not work right. On cummins.com there is a lot of complaints about them not working.. I and others have file a complaint wit the National Highway Trafic Safety Aminstration at 1-888-327-4236 or at Home | Safercar -- National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).. I would suggest for you to us an after market one, like the prodigy which is about the best one...

I just bought my 09 yesterday and lookin to install the trailer brake myself. Can you send me your notes on that sweet custom wire job? Thanks, and looks great!

Yes I can now so you know mine works great but I have never pursued getting it to show up on evic because I hate trying to get dealer to do anything out of the box and it works awesome without flash so I am okay with it. I did not want any other brake and I did not care how hard I had to work at factory look.
