I leave it on all the time so when I park I don't have to waste my time engaging it.

HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

(Awesome avatar man. I LOVE the GT500 cars! I have a 2013 Roush Stage3. Would LOVE to add a 2013/2014 GT500 to the stable someday.)

I always use it. In older cars using the parking brake adjusted the drum brake and I drove manuals. So now it is just habit. If on a steep incline I shift to neutral set the parking brake allow the car to set against the brake then shift to park.

I only use it if I park on a steep incline which is not very often maybe a a handful of times a year.

Use the brakes if parking on an incline and if I get out of the vehicle and leave the motor running. Always double check to make sure the shift knob is in park due to a little incident I had a month ago where my swing on the edge of the carport and deck ended up on my hood...POS shifter knob...

I would think to keep pressure off the trans when parking on an incline you would have to apply the brakes and hold them, then apply the parking brake without releasing the brake pedal, then release the brake pedal and put the truck in park. Is this what everyone does? Otherwise wouldn't the incline already create pressure on the trans when you put it in park, take your foot off the brake then apply the parking brake? I only use it in a manual on a hill(saw one roll in gear before) or when in neutral, or auto or manual on a boat ramp but I usually don't have to get out.
What he said! Every word if it. When you live in the mountains, this exact procedure becomes second nature.

From when I used to do my drum brakes myself, I believe the star self adjuster would self adjust by reversing, not by using the parking brake.

But, I could be wrong.

I use it 100% of the time. Like the old saying, "use it or lose it". Having said that my 2015 release lever broke just before I traded it, covered by warranty.

Funny, I never used it with an automatic tranny until I got my '17 with the rotary gear selector. Now, even when parked on a slight incline, I use the P brake. I guess it's just a psychological thing, but I just don't trust the electronic selector.
