The truck I bought had been sitting on the dealer lot for 12 months (which I don't understand because it is gorgeous), it only had 15 miles on it when I first test drove it. It did need a new battery but other than that there were no issues.

Storage issues

There's a couple great products to address this issue that I have been using for years. For engine oil and dry start protection, use Rev-X oil additive.
For storage, use their "Adrenaline Marine" fuel additive. Designed for marine industry, negates ethanol in the fuel, cleans up engines and injectors, gives increased performance, and acts as a stabilizer. You can got to their website revxoil.com and find a dealer near you, or buy online. I've been using their oil additive in an '03 vehicle I have that has 250k miles on it, for about 8 years now, still doesn't burn a drop of oil...
Their stuff is AMAZING...

Mine sits for 17 days at a time every month while I'm at work. Been doing that with my trucks for the past few years with no issues.

My truck sat for 4 months while I went overseas. I cleaned the inside and gave it a good wash. I also aired up the tires and pulled the battery out. She started up without any hesitation. No flat spots on the tires. I used stabil in the last tank of fuel before I parked it. No issues over the past 1.5 weeks.
