What do you measure from either ground to fender or axle centerline to fender?

I redid mine this weekend...took another 5/8 of a coil off the back and 1/4 off the front expecting another ~1/2" drop on both ends. I dropped from a 31.6" tall tire to a 30.4" tall tire so that should have netted another 1/2" right there.

My before numbers were 33 front, 34 back from ground to fender. After all that work I netted 1/2" total. It's 32.5" front and 33 3/8" rear.
It's almost like cutting the springs didn't do anything at all.
Here's the difference in the tires. Obviously the one unmounted tire makes it look like more difference.

Here's how it sits now.

I really don't feel like blowing it apart again but I may have to.

Maybe it's the camera angle. but that last picture... It just, it sits to tall for those tires.

I can't believe that it has to 'settle' but maybe?

Those springs were well broken in...there is no more settling to happen. I put almost 200 miles on it today running some canyons around here....measured exactly the same as it did before I left the house.

I dunno...it's got me scratching my head.

Just measured the gap in the front...it's only 2 1/4" from the top of the tire to the fender. The pic definitely looks like more than that.

Different angle...not nearly as bad this way.

Interesting...a 285/45/22 measures 32.1" tall. Do you remember how much you cut off your springs

I gotta get under there and look tomorrow. I know it was close in the back before but I bet the rear springs are in coil bind on the top half of the progressive coil. I think I just figured it out. Not sure on the front though....may have just played it too safe with only cutting 1/4 of a coil off.

looks good. maybe if you cut another 1/4 coil up front and 1/2 in the rear it will close the gap a little more.

I think the back now is gonna be actually measuring coil thickness instead of parts of the coil. I peeked under there real quick this morning and it looks like the coil is fully bound on top. I'll see if anything fits between the coils this afternoon but I doubt it.

Luckily it takes all of 15 minutes to do the back of the truck...don't even have to take the tires off. I had the springs marked and popped them out to cut off the last 3/8 of a coil to equal 2 full coils removed. It went down to about 33 1/4. lol
Maybe I'll lop another 1/2 a coil off tomorrow.

A little firmer but I dial in my shocks heavy anyway so it feels just right to me.

That's cool. I could never go lower than I am now, these streets in NM are complete **** and I bottom out on most potholes.

Just FYI, I measured my BT 2/4, nothing cut off the springs, just installed it as it came. I have the stock 285/45/22 Goodyear's also.

Front:

Floor to fender 33 3/8"
Centerline of hub to fender 18 5/8

Rear:

Floor to fender 34 1/4
Centerline of hub to fender 19 3/8
