So I should have listened to friends who said to just start with a lift but I went with the Bilstein level anyway thinking I would be satisfied.

Question is, If I go with a 4 or 6 inch lift next, can i still use the 5100's since they're only a month old?

Thanks

Yes, a couple of the lift kits have the option for them.... can't remember which lift kit, but one of them has you set the struts to 1.4" to level the front with their lift.

That's good news... need to start lift kit shopping :naughty:

Just look at most of the lifts on the market. Many if not all 6" will come with a strut spacer for the front. These are what the bilsteins replace. So you wouldn't install the spacer just put the shock/strut at the height you want to make up the difference.

For example the 4" zone lift you can use the bilsteins at factory height and you get 4" of front lift, if you max out the bilstein at 2.1 you get 6" of total front end lift.

The Zone or BDS 4" kit with your Bilsteins set at 1.4" to 2.1" will get a level stance (most cases, but depends on stock fender height).

The Zone or BDS 6" kit is offered in a 3/6 (rear 3" lift & front 6" lift) which will get you level right out of the box without Bilsteins. This kit not only uses a "tophat" spacer but also uses a 5/8" preload spacer (approx thickness). For using your bilsteins with this kit you just discard the 5/8" preload spacer and set your Bilsteins to around 0.7" lift (most cases, but depends on stock fender height).

The ZONE or BDS 6" kit is also offered in a 5/6 (rear 5" lift & front 6" lift) which will not get you level right out of the box (most cases). If you again discard the preload spacer and add your Bilsteins to this setup then put them at 2.1" or more for a leveled look. This allows you to run 37's easily but some members run 35's too.

Damn nice looking truck and super clean in that photo. You had me at level with Billies. What size tires are you currently running? I too am making the jump from Billies to 4inch Zone. My factory rake is a steep 3inches so as JB1 mentioned above, I plan to crank mine down from 2.8 to 2.1 and go with the 3in coil rears. Also, if it is in your budget, and you decide on Zone, get the upgraded UCA. I order mine on Monday and hope to post pics in 2 weeks. Good luck with the lift!

This is awesome info, thanks. Still new to lifts so appreciate the knowledge.

Thanks man, its on 35x12.5 with 20x10's at -19ET. No rubbing at all which is awesome. Will check out the upgraded UCA.

Even if you add a lift and set the Bilsteins to 0.00 lift, your still benefiting from upgrading to a monotube shock so it wont be a waste either way

When you have to have the difference will drop for the 6" kit for that to work properly ?

Hi new to this board. I have a 2011 Ram 1500 Big Horn, I am getting the Bilstein front and rear for my leveling built (61116226 and 6116223), plan on running it at Max 2.75" front and add a 1" or 3/4" TGC spacer on top of the new rear Bilstein shocks. While I am at it, I will throw in a pair of MevoTech UCAs. and order a TufTruck Coil Spring (Factory Height + 25% strength). All these to fit a 34X11.5X20 Nitto and Fuel Mavericks combo.

I have plans to get a 6" Zone kit down the road. But my budget now only allows a leveling upgrade.

If I read the previous replies correctly, I can reuse my BILSTEINs when I am ready for the 6" lift but I will still be using the spacers and new springs provided by the ZONE kit?
I will just crank the Front Bilstein back to 0, replace my 1" rear TGC spacer with the new zone spacer? and swap out the coil spring?

If thats the case I am ordering my leveling parts today. Thanks in advance.

You will not be able to use the rear bils with the new lift kit. The fronts will work fine, and will need adjusted to suite your level wants/likes, depending on wether you go with the 3 or 5" rear springs. Everything else looks ok

Great thx for the quick reply, in that case, I will leave the back factory, and just add the TGC spacer at 1" per BilsteinLifts.com has suggested, Buying only the front Bils, with the MevoTech UCA for the leveling for now. When I am ready for the 6" lift, I will upgrade the rear shocks.

I went the same route as you and now am thinking about upgrading to a 4” or adding a body lift to get just a little more. ca22371bf4c6202b8049ce35ac116f1c.jpg

You’ll ditch the coils or spacer for rear too as zone comes with new rear coils. Basically as stated previously only thing you can reuse is the front Bilsteins. The 6” kits raise the rear a minimum 3” to be level depending on your stock measured height

thanks. Roger that. I can also reuse my UCA. With my budget, I have decided to go with either Superlift. Or Zone. 6" Lift. But with new 35 12.5 20 tires. The 1500 should clear with no issue with the -44 offset Fuse Mavericks.

That is a damn nice looking truck! I personally love the stance of it! What is your setup as far as tire size?

OK, I made a new post, but it got deleted for some reason, so hopefully, I am asking the right question here. If not, adm: please tell me what I did wrong and dont just delete my post. Thanks.

After Bilstein 5100 installed at 2.1 on my 2011 1500 Big Horn 4X4. Will a set of 295 60 R20 Cooper AT3 fit without trimming? or down size to 305 55 R20? they will be mounted on a set of FUEL Mavericks 20X10 -24.

I Just want to investigate a little before I order these tires.

Thanks.

Anthony.
