Mods if this is the wrong forum, please feel free to move my thread.

To start off, this is on a 2014 Hemi 5.7.

I've got a problem that is stumping me. My 3rd brake light went out at some point and I've tried everything I can think of and googled myself crazy. I've found that the light works fine hooked up to a 9v battery but when wired to the truck, nothing. I've tried every fuse I can think of and they were all perfect. What would be the next step? Side note, all other brake lights work.

Plug a volt meter into the the plug and have someone step on the brake and make sure it's getting power- Check the fuse for continuity with the same volt meter- Report back

What specific fuse corresponds to the 3rd brake light? I tried a bunch that sounded like they could be the one and they were all fine.

Having the same problem on my 2014. Talked to service guy and he said they never have issues with those and to bring it in. My cargo lights don't work either. Any luck in figuring yours out?

Hi jbc1109,

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to offer assistance if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know.

Found the problem. The gasket around the third brake light was not sealing against the cab at the top allowing water to leak in and destroy the bulbs. I also noticed some dampness in the storage area under the back seat where the water had apparently ran down to the lowest point. Replaced the gasket with a self adhesive door seal and looks like it's good to go. Haven't pulled the light back off but after several heavy rains and washes, no dampness under the seat.
