Hey everyone,

I'm fairly new to the forum and have been trying to figure out how to stand out among the crowd. There seems to be a Ram bighorn everywhere you look.

I've looked into going color matched on the bumpers and grille but that seems like a very expensive undertaking which is further complicated by the Pearl paint that I have. Linex color matched wouldn't be able to capture the Pearl of the paint so I'm not sure if that would look janky. What are your opinions on what would be the best thing to stand out. I've looked into wheels as I know that would be a good starting point but I'm not sure what to do there yet since I don't know if I'm staying with the chrome.

I know some people don't like the new Laramie grille but I actually like it. Do you guys think that would look good if I stayed with the chrome?

Any opinions would be appreciate, thanks.

Ah stay with the chrome , wheels and tires make a statement. Stand out from the crowd by not going all blacked out...lol
Oh yeah. I wasn't going to all black. You see that more than the chrome Rams, haha. I was looking at a bronze wheel to accent the black forest green Pearl but I don't think it would look good with the chrome.

I think black and chrome look good together. Plenty of black/milled eheela to choose from that would look good on ur truck.

It's all going to come down to ur taste and vehicle use, is ur truck 4x4 or 2x4? Do you off road? Do you still have the stock vynal wrap on the door pillars? " I took mine off" I like that look better, the. A lot of the new rams are all paint matched every where- looks good imo- maybe change up the coloring of ur badges or emblems or remove them all together? Custom head lights from retro shop are pretty cool. You thinking maybe a lift or lowered?- Again what are your desires and what do you use the truck for?

Don't modify your truck to please other people. Modify it to please yourself. Trucks look great in chrome or black, lifted and lowered, black or white. What makes you stand out is your personal touch. Try out different things. Experiment and see what works for you.

It's 2wd. I use it for commuting and light construction very occasionally. It's still bone stock except for the line-x beelined and tonneau cover. I'll be having the front windows tinted tomorrow to match the factory tint.

I would like to go for a sporty look but wouldn't want to sacrifice ride quality too much. That's one of my favorite qualities of the truck.

I had them put the darkest tint available over my factory tint in the rear/ back doors and I went with the lightest possible for the fronts. I live in Cali and they are tint nazis around where I live so it wouldn't of been good if I went to dark on the fronts. I would Deff look at different lights maybe, different badges- the " Bronze " colored wheels look good on white - I think method makes some in that color.

One good start to standing out is to stand up a little taller or sit down low. 6"+ lift or go lowered!!! From there, all the other slight changes tie in your artistic personality.

I'm blacked out, but rarely see blacked out 4th gen Rams in Northern FL. Yeah, that doesn't sound right, but it's true where I am at. Apparently not so in other places from what I am reading. Here, the blackouts are mostly other brands..

I think if you do what makes you happy, that's enough "standout", love your tuck and have fun with it!!!

I may be a little biased since I own a Laramie but I do think the Laramie grill looks way better than the chrome grill on the BH. BH grill is a little too plain IMO.

I liked the big horn package just fine except for the grill. I bought the laramie grill inserts off amazon. I know everyone is on the blacked out look, but I like black with chrome.

Looks great, was it easy to swap out? Do you mind me asking what you paid?
Thanks

I think it cost 200 bucks. It took me about 2 hours. You just take the grill off and pop out the inserts. There is videos on youtube that show how to remove the grill. I sold my bighorn inserts for 60 bucks on craigslist
