So...

Still new to this Ram thing. I want to add a hood deflector to my truck.

If I were to go chrome I would want to go with the official Mopar one:

If I were to go tinted then I could go with Mopar, Weathertech etc.

So... Go for the tinted or add a dash of chrome?

While I am asking for opinions does anyone have any feedback on mudflaps? Mopar? Weathertech? Husky?

Definitely go tinted on the deflector, you got enough chrome imo. Flaps I'll let someone else chime in. Sweet truck btw [emoji41]

Tinted Chrome looks super tacky IMO as a bug deflector

Thanks for all the feedback; much appreciated. :)

I will look into the AVS hood deflector. There seems to be several models. I am in Canada so I will pop into my local action trucks location to check out their goodies. 16Laramie4wd, does that deflector provide some extra protection for the headlights with those extensions over the lights?

So far the only aftermarket accesories I have added were a Extang Trifecta 2.0 tonneau cover (love this thing) and a rubber, fitted bed mat (cannot remember the company but not the Mopar one).

Other than the hood deflector and mud flaps are there any other recommended upgrades you guys recommend?

One thing I am glad I did was have the dealer install the factory trailer brake controller. This was before I picked up the truck:

I was thinking of putting on some Laramie rims for summer use but the truck came with new Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain Adventure with Kevlar which is an LT tire with an E rating. It is also rated for winter use so I might keep these on and use them this winter. My original idea was to put dedicated winters on these 17" rims and then have 20" Laramie rims to use for the summer. I have come to like having the extra sidewall and these tires are pretty heavy duty. Not sure what other tires are well regarded around here. Lots to learn from you guys.

Deffinatly go with tinted or color matched, as for flaps, I ordered mopar flaps and never installed cause they look and feel cheap.
Imho I would not keep switching tire/wheel size as it has alot to do with your shift pattern. Get same size for both winter/summer.

It won't hurt anything, I've switched back and forth between 20's (summer) and 17's (winter) on my Challenger for 6 years. As long as you stay with the OEM sizes so that the overall is still the same the car doesn't know the difference.

I switched my 17's for 20's and the height was larger so my shift pattern was all screwy till I had them calibrated.

Not any headlight protection .. covers the dip of the hood

no deflector would be my opinion, but if you must, please don't do chrome...... the tinted would look far better on your truck.

Another vote for neither. But if you must, do not go chrome. That would look really good with your grill not having chrome.
