A brilliant one at that! Now we need a write up on the install lest you constantly get asked how to keep them from spinning with the axle...
I took one of the taillights off and used tap connectors to tap into the positive and negative wires going to the reverse light on the taillight. Can someone take photos of the wiring to the pods and how you tied in and where to the reverse light wiring?

No relay or fuse? I'm interested in doing it this way for ease of install, but I'm wondering if it might not play well with the factory wiring...I took one of the taillights off and used tap connectors to tap into the positive and negative wires going to the reverse light on the taillight.

The reverse lights are already fused from the truck, so I didn't put one on for the pods. I didn't run a relay either because of the low power draw of the LED. So far no issues, they work great! No relay or fuse? I'm interested in doing it this way for ease of install, but I'm wondering if it might not play well with the factory wiring...

So you wired the two lights together then ran them to a single tail light right? I'm wondering if there would be any benefit to wiring each one individually to a tail light. Well I just didn't want to splice into both tail lights, that's why I did it onto one. There probably wouldn't be any harm in it thoughSo you wired the two lights together then ran them to a single tail light right? True enough, I'm just wondering if there would be a load benefit. Electrical wiring isn't my strong suit. Your setup is nice and easy. I'd think wiring them into the trailer hitch wiring would be even easier.Well I just didn't want to splice into both tail lights, that's why I did it onto one. I also already replaced the reverse lights with LEDs so more room for electrical load on those particular wires (I think that's how it works)...The only thing you'd need to worry about by splicing both lights into on side is the draw on that particular wire or harness. LED lights don't draw nearly as much as incandescent lights so I highly doubt there will be any problem. And as long as you splice properly then you won't have to worry about corroding wires

Does anyone know the wires to tap in the trailer harness?

Thanks! So that wire is the reverse light power/trigger?It is in my opinion. That's the route I went.
White/orange....or it's the center if I recall.
