2012 heated steering wheel. Will it work in a 2014?

Heated steering wheel. Got it yesterday. Wire question besides clock spring

So I may have jumped the gun. Saw a picture & it looked like the right wheel. Came from a 2012 limited laramie. In looking at the DIY thread for the upgrade. It says 2013 on up so I am wondering if I blew it & bought a really nice wheel I can't use?

Update: I got my wheel & it looks fine & just like mine but nicer. Can you see the wiring in it? So besides a new clock spring? Do I need another wiring harness?

In reading a few of the Steering wheel upgrade threads. If I take off the cover behind the wheel. I need the blue plug to be there hopefully plugged into a blank. I have a Tradesman so have read that may not even be there. In which case does that mean the volume controls also won't work without that blue harness?

i didnt think there was a limited model in 2012, nor was a heated wheel an option. my guess is the add is wrong and the wheel will work fine.

I have a heated wheel in my 2011 Laramie longhorn. It would be strange to remove that option in 2012.

No Limited until 14, but 4th gens have had heated wheels since the beginning.

You would still need to add the clockspring to plug the heater element into as well.

Yeah Knew I'd need to do that either way. Just hoping this wheel is still the same & usable.

The pic of that wheel is from a 13 and up. The 09 to 12 had different buttons all together. That wheel has the newer buttons on it.

That is good news. Next question is the gear shift buttons aren't on the new wheel. Do I just swap the button from mine to the new wheel?

The gear shift buttons won't throw any errors, they just won't do anything either. My 14 has the 6 speed as well and I swapped to a Rebel wheel with the same buttons. You can swap yours over or just leave it how it is, either way everything you currently have will still work.

EDIT. Reread what you wrote lol. Yes swap your buttons over and they will work. My bad.

I got my wheel

Okay so I got my wheel. So I need to get the Clockspring for it. Is the dealer going to be overpriced or do you guys have a source. Also surprised it came with the gear shift buttons? Original pics didn't show that. Thinking the guy just used a previous picture. Bonus for me

Whatever year RAM decided to be its own brand. Your right.

I believe they changed to RAM in 2011... Every time I try and search for a part on my 2011i have to go to RAM manufacturer because 2011 isn't under Dodge. That being said, the steering wheel definitely changed in 2012 since my 2011 doesn't have the upgraded buttons wheel on the top of the line Longhorn from 2011.
