On startup when the truck has been sitting in minus weather (the last week here has been consistant -10c to -20c, the coolant and oil temp start at 40c, but the trans temp matches the outside temp almost perfectly. Is there a reason why my electronic gauges both read 40c? Does anyone else's truck do this? Is there a secret heater I don't know about.

I am also considering the possibility that the fluids can not go colder that 40c, I actually don't know. I figured it's a good question for the seniors of the forum.

As an add in, it does change temp when it gets hotter (after about 5 minutes of run time). It returns to normal temps readings.

That makes a lot of sense. Do other owners have the same reading? If so, this would be the case.

Personally, I would like an exact reading.

Yes mine says "40*" until it gets past that temp.
