Decided to paint the trim panel that lines the back door windows.( originally the tanish" headliner color) Turned out pretty good with the duplicolor vinyl product. Thinking about doing the rest of the pillars. I know front one isn't bad removing. But not sure about the others with the seat belt assembly. Anyone ever removed the middle or rear ones?. Thanks in advance998a48133d9d1ff155a8fee9c8a1d851.jpg07099c5f9494dd7cdf26b24a95106d78.jpgd4a38a305529d79e9563fff8ae9050e5.jpg269d6de8383f8c3894e8cf633a599e9f.jpg

Cool, looks professional. Yes just did the removal of all pillars for my Dynamat install. Straightforward, no surprises.

Subscribed. What's your initial assessment on durability, such as accidently scratching it?

Seems very durable. I had the same concerns, so I did the first coat let it dry a hour or so and kinda bent and flexed the piece a little. No flaking or cracking at all. I did use flat instead of the gloss because I was worried the gloss would show the texture too much. Pics are hard to tell because it's sunny and Hot in Houston lol but it blends in with the rest of the door panel nicely

Torx and panel popper for B pillar. Phillips, Torx and panel popper for C.

You gotta pull the scuff plates but they are easy. I am dynamatting so I have seats out too.

It's a T50 torx you need to pull the seatbelt bolts off. As for durability, it will scratch and rub off in high use areas like around where the seatbelts hang but it's also extremely easy to just respray those areas if it gets beat up. I had that stuff on my whole interior for years in my '07.

Negative, the texture on the panels and the oils in the plastic makes it very hard for vinyl to stick properly, ask me how I know. You'd need to prep the panels before wrapping the same as if you were painting but the vinyl doesn't hold as well over time. I had 2 vinyl wrapped panels separate in the summer heat.

2 should do it but if you pick up 3 you'll be safe, that's for 2-3 coats for proper coverage.

Wrapping textured plastic usually never works good. On top of wrapping all the pieces around the seat belt assembly would look like ****

I have used the duplicolor stuff and it's good but SEM products are even better. My local automotive paint supply has it and while it costs almost double the finish looks even more OEM and its much more resistant to scratching.
