The front should be the same as the 2013 and lower

Ring & Pinion Sets parts for Dodge Ram 1500 1/2 Ton

4.56 are available. Rear would need to be machined though

Link posted is for 8" (205mm)...not made for 12+ Rams

A Chrysler 8.0" has not been used in a Ram since they switched (front and rear) after 2011 to the ZF axles.

The new ZF front diff (2012+) has 215mm ring gear (~8.5")
and there are no aftermarket non-OEM options that I'm aware of.

2013's are welded some real early 14's might be but there's only a hand full from what I was told. But it's always worth a shot to pop off the cover and take a look. The hell cats are the only one welded for 2014 and 2015 but there still not sure what 2016 will be yet

What does the hellcat have to do with ram?

That's so stupid. And I'm glad that website is wrong then lol.

So basically your ****** and need to switch carriers either way or you'll be paying 800+ for a ring and pinion..

I should have just gotten a power wagon ********.. Too late now Lmao

Ok. Just changed gears in my 2014 Ram 2500. Not welded in. Went from 3.73 to 4.56. WOW, what a nice difference. Maybe lost 2 mpg on level hi way but same mileage in town and improved mileage in the Rocky's over Vail Pass at 70 and upward. 15.5 average. Also has a very nice power band for all around driving. As for towing, before was very difficult to tow 26' 5'er toy hauler and only got 8 mpg on flats in eastern SD. Now, getting 10 or better in CO Rockies. Glad I didn't go with the 4.10 as I know they wouldn't have been low enough. With 4.56, tachs out at 2300rpm at 80 in 6th gear.

Yes, this thread is for the 1500's. The 2500's are a different animal.

Didn't need to change carriers in ether axle. The only mod was different pinion bearings (smaller dia. pinion shaft) and I believe that was only necessary in the read diff. Other than that, bolted in as advertised. Word of warning though, they may seem a bit more noisy than the 3.73 or 4.10. After initial break in and oil change, noise isn't really noticeable. Again, very happy with the change. I did have the work done by my dealer. I felt they did an excellent job from the parts dept. to the mechanic.

Like I said above, the thread is for 1500's. That is why yours requires nothing special. Also the pinion is the same diameter, the bearings get replaced because it is a pain to pull the head bearing off the pinion.

I own a 2013, and Last night purchased a Whole LSD 2010 rear end w/ 3.92, and a 2010 Front Differential w/3.92. Getting them switched to 4.56 as soon as UPS drops them off at my door.

Is that before or after you get the carriers machined to accept 4.56s?

The carriers don't need to because they are 2010's. $210 for each set of 4:56's, plus $850 labor to install the gears. I already have a auto recycler lined up to buy my stock rear end and front diff for $1850 so I will basically be getting 4:56's for free.

Damn nice ass deal dude..i thought the 8.25 front couldnt accept 4.56 and would need to be modified. I never considered it for my 2010 though as it had a 4.7 lol.

I have 3.55 with a open rear diff right now, and after putting a new engine in it and running a 200 shot of NOS, Ill be stuck at the starting line :roflsquared:

If you are going to be running a built motor with that much nitrous, then the 4.56's are not going to work for you at the dragstrip. You are going to run out of gear way before the finish line with that motor and 4.56's. Stick with the 3.92's and throw a nice converter in there.
