2014 RAM sport 1500 Gas mileage

Guys,

I had a complete tank of gas and started driving. Gas light came on at 650 kms and the range says i can still drive another 150 kms.

- How many kms do you get for a full tank of gas?
- Full tank of gas in 2014 Ram1 500 is 96 liters or 98 liters?
- How many kms can i drive safely without putting gas once i get the gas light indication?

Your advise appreciated.

26 gallons = 98.4 liters

If your gas light is on I would put gas in it.

But the range says i can still go 150kms with the current gas. After the gas light, how many kms is it safe to drive any idea? For a full tank gas, what is your gas mileage?

Gas cools the fuel pump, so when you run really low, you are potentially running the pump hotter than it should be, which can shorten its life.

Someone already told you what most of us will say, fill up when your gas light comes on because running low will kill your fuel pump. I think anyone that fills 10 or 15 bucks at a time is an idiot.

well low fuel light comes on when it hits 50-60km as expected fuel range.... i'm sure you could get an easy 20-30KM out of the low fuel light... but obviously it's not a great idea to test the theory. how far you will continue to get will depend on what you do with your truck.... stock tires my truck i got 11litres/100, i changed to 10 ply 34's duratrac's and down to 14.5 highway, pull my 6300pound dry weight travel trailer and 31litres/100...

Doesn’t your truck have the fuel display that tells you how far you can go based on you average kph? I would not let it go past that low fuel light... my truck has over 200k I wouldn’t dare let my tank go under 1/4 tank. But I would only guess about 60km from that low warning.

As has been said a couple of times, running that low on gas is bad for the fuel pump. But, it's also your truck, treat is however you like.

No one can say for sure how far you can go once the fuel light comes on. If the EVIC was completely accurate, then you'd know, but it isn't. It also depends on how you drive once the light comes on.

If you really want to know, get a 5 gallon can of gas, then run the truck till it dies of fuel starvation. Then you'll know for sure.
