So I'm self diagnosing the issue. I will post a video today of the clapping noise at cold start up. I noticed this a few weeks ago and wrote it off as being 0 deg F here. That's unusually cold for us. It does go away after a minute or 2 of driving.
Is this covered with the 5 year PT warranty? I don't drive it much, only have 35000 miles on it but that warranty runs out in August.

It is covered under powertrain for $0 deductible. If not under factory warranty, then max care covers it for your deductible. Not sure about the lesser Chrysler extended warranties.

It oughta be covered by a class action lawsuit. I wish someone would organize one. ******** have known about this problem for years and have done nothing to correct it!

Well the service guy called. Once I described the problem he asked if I had a Hemi, told him yes then he said it was probably the mainifold bolts, Which I was glad he knew about. But said he wasn't sure if it was covered under warranty or not...

Just got the call it's covered. Will be repaired next Thursday

Guy told me these are better than OG and nobody has come back with them broken after they've been replaced.

They supposedly did improve them, although not sure how. However, I bet they break again. I hope not, as mine have also been replaced (manifolds and bolts), but I am a pessimist when it comes to some automotive issues.

Got it fixed yesterday, picked it up today. Shop guy told me #1 was broken. I asked if he replaced all of them. He first told me no, then called back and said the mechanic replaced all on that side. He said when doing warranty work they only fix whats broken. I made it a point to tell him that basically I'm screwed if the rest break after the warranty is gone that being its a known issue why not replace all of them. I'm assuming its a total of 8, 4 on each side?? He told me usually 7&8 break. Any way its fixed for now.
