I'm not a fan of oiled air filters. With that, do you have to use an oiled filter with the Vararam and S&B CAI?

pretty sure the S&B is oiled. the question shouldn't only be about oiled, but is it a paper or cotton medium. both can be oiled from the mfg.

S&B has the choice, oiled or replaceable dry.

Yep, the instructions that came with the S&B said the white filter is dry disposable, the red filter is oiled

As stated, the Vararam filter is only available as an oiled filter. S&B offers both an oiled or dry filter, but the dry filter is disposable...just throw it away and replace it when it gets dirty. Replacement filters are about $45 each.

Also you can get the S&B dry filter with a filter sock which is how I run mine....the sock protects the filter from fine particles and prolongs life. I replaced my filter and sock after 20,000 or about 3 years of driving for me. I currently have 25,500 on my 13. I also run the scoop on mine....Love my CAI!!!!
