Hi

My 2016 1500 2wd came with a 235mm axle and 3.21 and open diff.

When I bought the truck I didn't have the luxury of time to spec what I wanted.

So I'm wanting to put in an aftermarket diff lock or lsd.

I am sometimes in situations where I need the extra traction, this far I have been okay but I'd like it for in case.

So far I have seen the Detroit and True trac.

Has anyone else done an aftermarket install? What are you running and what would you recommend?

I can't find anything that specifically says the 235mm axle? Is it just the metric labeled 9.25?

The Auburn aftermarket website is down right now. It's listed for the newer ZF axles which are in our trucks. The previous 9.25 axle was an AAM. IIRC it was posted on this forum somewhere that parts for the two are not interchangeable.

On my build sheet it states I have a 235MM axle?

All the LSDs I have found are 9.25 INCHES

here you go. click here LMGTFY

Im aware 9.25 is the imperial equivalent to metric 235

Just seems a strange concept to me use two different units of measurement

I appreciate the helpful input from everyone

Lol, no worries.

I see he has the Oem in stock for a good price and a lot cheaper than the auburn and the detroits.

I haven't heard great things about the oem but in reality I'm not doing any off roading or towing anything.

I occasionally drive up moderately steep gravel and dirt trails to reach campsites and cabins when I drive up north. I live in south Florida so I don't need 4wd 90% of the time!

It would be easy for me to trade in and go to a new 4wd off the lot tomorrow, but I love my truck and I'm kinda sentimental with vehicles (this one more than any!) lol
