I have a 2012 Ram 1500 4.7 4 wheel drive. The issue I am having is related to the key fob.

Symptoms are as follows:
* remote does not lock, unlock, or panic
* remote does start truck
* driver door can unlock doors but cannot lock doors. Driver door can control all windows
* Passenger door can lock and unlock all doors and control windows

What has been tried:
Replaced battery in key fob with brand new battery
left truck removed from battery for over 24 hours
checked all relays to make sure they are working
checked all fuses and none are blown

You could try cleaning the contacts on the key fob, personally I would just buy a couple replacement key fobs off Amazon and get them programmed at a locksmith, or get Alfaobd and program them yourself.

first of all, try pressing your PANIC Button
If the alarm goes off, the FOB is making contact with the trucks WIN MODULE.

If the other functions still are not working, watch this video

" driver door can unlock doors but cannot lock doors. "

This right here has been a TIPM issue in a few cases. Mine included. ( I hope )

as well as all the other problems you listed, can also be TIPM related. I pulled my WIN and tested it on a friends truck, and it was fine. Do that first it takes 10 minutes and you can eliminate the WIN module being the issue.

Heading to the shop in a couple of hours to swap out my TIPM for new one.

The WIN, is that the module inside of the driver door or is that the actual switch's that control the windows and locks?

None of the buttons on the fob works. I have already replaced the metal pads and even purchased a new set of buttons. The fob does still start the truck.

The weird thing was it stopped out of the blue. The say before there was no issues. The next day it didn't work. I did replace the battery and it didn't change.

I took my tipm apart to look for corrosion and it was perfectly clean
I have some new fobs ordered and on the way and purchased AlphaOBD on my phone, i am going to get it on my computer too. maybe the rolling codes ran out on the old fob. The strange thing is the lock button on the driver door stopped working at the same time. It can unlock but does not lock.

New fobs came in and I was able to reprogram them. The remote lock works again.

I still have an issue with the lock button on the driver door. I might need to replace the switch module.

I did try and reprogram the original key which worked but the remote buttons still don't work. So not it will be my valet key lol.

Before a remote battery power, is getting low.
It will often protect you from locking yourself out.
In you case, yo allready installed a new battery. Not a old batch?
Not having a second key, is not helping to determin, if it is car or key failing.

Water in the key is very common, when dryed, it still leaves some corrosive chalky residue.
In the keys mcu, shorting it.

You could open your fob, and check this.
If so, then clean it with some alcohol and a soft paintbrush.

Getting back to ..
what is a WIN, Wireless Ignition Node, Node could also be a Module?

I believe with the system where you fit the FOB into the Ignition Switch, that Switch is the WIN

That might mean where the FOB remains in your pocket, would mean that the FOB is actually called an RKE, Remote Keyless Entry
With the RKE, the WIN is mounted on the rear cab wall, right next to the drivers side cab vent

This is only a educated guess on my part !!
...........................................................................

With the WIN that is the Ignition Switch mounted on the Dashboard

In your mind, picture a Copper Coil inside the WIN
When you insert the FOB into the Ignition, part of the FOB is inside of the Copper Coil & a Security signal is triggered, that signal allows power to ECU & then the Starter.

Sometimes, i think something happens & the ECU just gets confused ??
Dirt inside of the FOB or the little round contacts inside the FOB can become detached.

Another possibility here that I didn’t see mentioned is that the PCB board may have developed a break in a connection. I have a key fob that this happened on. I can still use it if I grab it on the top and bottom and flex it to get the broken connection to re-establish itself. It’s not the battery connectors, they are very tight and clean. This bending manipulation only works one way, and it’s not easy to flex the fob while also pressing the desired button, but it has extended the life of this OEM fob a bit.

I have a pair of new FOBs from Amazon that I’ll be trying to program using AlphaOBD.

If the cck board is cracked, if you have a small pencil soldering iron, you can clean the varnish off the copper and solder small copper jumper wires on to bridge the break.

I watched this video of taking the fob apart, Way better way to clean the rubber and case is warm soapy water or spray clean and a old small tooth brush , or your regular one if your wife keeps tossing your old ones.
Do not get the board wet, but you can use a bit of contact cleaner if you have it on the contacts
the rubber eraser is good on the battery contacts as well ,if they are dirty.

Good info but I’m terrible with soldering. I was just able to program one of the Amazon keyfobs using JScan. Much more straightforward than AlfaOBD.

Have you ever gone into your settings area on the radio and checked door options. There is a section that allows you to program your doors to unlock all or just one door. At least that it show its in my Laramie limited.
