Just realized today that my passenger side exhaust was hanging down a little more than the other side. I tried to move it and saw its a little loose right where the tip is attached to the exit end of the muffler. Is there anything I can do to tighten it up or will I have to do something else to get it back and tightened up?

The exhaust should be all bolted together (if it's factory) so just get under there and tighten it up.

Had a chance to check it out today. Looks like where it is loose at is where the pipe comes out of the back of the muffler. There is no clamp or anything around it. Will a spot weld correct this or should I be looking at a replacement?

Maybe it's not the exhaust I'm looking at but there are no clamps that I can see. I attached a pic. Right after the hanger, where it goes into the round thing I may be mistaking for the muffler. Ii I move the tip, that's where it's moving around at.

That's a resonator. Nothing should be moving on it, if it is, then it's broken, cracked weld. A muffler shop should be able to fix it for you. Will Tack weld it in place they remove the pipe to weld around it.

That's what I thought it was, I couldn't think of the word. So it'll need to be welded all the way around to seal it up?

From what i can see in that pic it looks like just before the resonator on the bottom of the pipe is a crack. that should be able to be welded.

To me it looks like a good excuse to upgrade! Let me know if you are interested in a catback system. shoot me a PM with what you are interested in and I can send you a quote with your forum discount!

If you don't weld all the way around it will just crack again. The Tack weld will just hold it in place so the pipe can be removed (for the real fix) without it moving.

Got it. I'll be looking for a local exhaust shop to fix it up. Not really in the market for a full swap just now.
