How Many Miles Since Cam Replacement?

We are all well aware of the problems with the 2011 lifter issues eating cams.
I'm a little concerned about metal from the cam having floated around inside the engine for 10,000 - 20,000 miles being embedded into the bearings. Having cut open filters I have found a lot of metal in mine and this has me looking at replacing the engine with a manufactured one.

How many miles have you put on since your "rebuilt"?

Any and all thoughts appreciated, but let them be based on experience and reason.

We would need to hear the price of either in your area, either way I wouldn't use the dealer for either. You have the tick? I'm pretty sure if I was in your shoes and determined I needed cam and lifters, I would go for that as opposed to reman.

Reman 5.7's are $3k..ish from a reputable co with a warrenty
Drop in NEW crate 5.7 can be between $5k and $7k pending application
Drop in new HELLCAT 6.2...$17k...lol

$7k for an installed reman.
$4k for cam, lifters, oil & water pump, chain, etc. MDS delete.

In that case, go reman, lol. Around here you will be out 10- 12k for a reman installed. I'm sure you get a warranty with that as well.

I'm leaning that way. The warranty is good, and it's Jasper engines. Well respected here, but I would love to hear any opinions.
