Is there anywhere specific to buy it at and I need 7 QTs correct?

The forum bought this guy out of 5w30, he has 0w20 and 10w30 for sale. If you spend a 100 freeshipping. Other then these rare sales you will spend 12 to 14 bucks a qrt. It's a tick killer, but it aint cheap.

I always get my Redline from jegs.com mainly because it's always available , they package it very well and shipping is free on purchases over $100 [emoji106][emoji106]

And yes Sir you need 7 qts .

Lol, apparently we were typing at the same time, both posts posted at the same time. I'd much rather order from Redline or jegs, with jegs it's just one order for oil and filter. I don't particularly care for Amazon.

Thanks a ton man...I priced it thru Amazon and they Summit Racing (warehouse is 3 hours away and I get it next day). I will check jegs as well...I am so used to 5.5-6qt changes on other trucks...7 seems like a ton.

Also any reason to pick one RP filter over the other?

I did know that a small amount of oil added to fuel can increase power.... The additional benefits of using TCW three or MMO.

But man that video was extremely informative thank you sir

EDIT: FU@k that was a bad auto correct error
I'm not sure he meant they make more power due to the PCV venting into the air intake plenum / combustion chamber ...I understood it as they are regulating the oil burn qty at spacific miles raced and and the Pennzoil has less venting which allows them to produce more power ( elsewhere) the more power natrally produces more blowby and venting via the PCV thus creates oil burning in the combustion chamber......maybe I misunderstood the video ?? I was talking to the wife while watching the video , I may have mistaken what he said ...I need to watch it again [emoji16]

Anyone else watch the video ?

For you Sir , I recommend the RP 20-820 ( the larger one ) for 3 reasons .
1) i believe the 2011 calls for that one .
2) same price as the smaller RP10-48
3) Due to your low miles per year , you could and should imo run this larger filter for 2ea oil change intervals.
The RP filters are 100% synthetic spun microglass media which will easily last 2yrs and 12,000 + miles .

Hope this helps !

That's perfect. Always figure the bigger filter would just be better insurance. I don't need to add more oil tho right? Just use the bigger filter and add 7 qts?

Also...should I change oil once a year or will it need it more based off time?

It will take a bit more oil , so I'd get an extra qt for the bank .
Fwiw my 14 Ram takes a bit over 7 qts even with the smaller 10-48 ...

Oh yeh , me personally I changed my oil twice a year , but I drive twice as much as you do . Also if I only drove the same amount as you I'd just change it annually.

I know a guy who runs Redline at 2yr intervals with good results ....me I'd go one year , just me though .

I cut one open after 14 months, and it was like new. I am doing a 2 year oci now, and will cut another open at the 2 year mark. Read this thread, RP thick media and great at filtering. The spun mixro glass does not degrade, and filters great, and has good flow. oil filter test, all of the spun microglass took the top positions.

compiled results of the test, RP, Amsoil and fram ultra (one two and three in that order). Look at the first pic, nothing went through the RP media, meaning the filter caught all of that contamination. All of the paper filters have more contamination flying around the engine at 30 microns. Pretty cut and dry.

Like R.L.K. said, Jegs is second to none for Redline/RP filters. Each and every bottle of oil comes with special tape wrapped around the caps so they don't come undone, lots of packing material to keep everything safe during shipping, just a general nice presentation when you open the box. Plus with the free shipping it's the best price anywhere for Redline.

I understand what you are saying.. but i remember reading the pages from the LS1 forum about TCW3 and how it can actually improves combustion efficiency in turn power. Though a minuscule amount.
