Back to Ronnie's question how is his redline 10w30 doing in the cold, well it has the same pour point as the 5w30 redline, both are better pour points then both 5w30 and 10w30 Mobil 1, and the only difference on the tech sheet is a 5 visc difference at -5 degrees as far as cold visc goes, same thing carried over to 0w30 again flows 5C degrees colder yet has same visc. M1 0w30 pour point, -50c, but get this Redline 0w30 POUR POINT -60C, that is -15 better pour points then the 10w30 and 5w30 redline. IMO 5w30 may protect you slightly better in the beggining of an OCI, 10w30 will protect you slightly better at the end of an OCI just maybe. You can make an arhument either way I guess between 10w30 and 5w30 redline. Of which I decided to go with 10w30 as well this month.
You consider how redline 5w30 did in that cold pour test, well 0w30 Redline will buy you freaking -15C's BETTER. That is sick?
Ya can't fake the specs, ester/pao will get you pourability UNDER -10C LOWER at the extremes proven by redline 0w30 compared to m1 0w30- Redline 0w30 bulletproof down to -60c, I think you are covered if you need to be.
Pour points and flash points some info that reveals those quality base oils.
