I was just thinking if you were to buy a used 2 year old 40k ram off a car lot it would still be covered under the factory power train warranty even though you have no service records. Wander what excuse the dealer would come up with to try to deny a warranty claim.

That maint tracker stays with the VIN and is the same one the dealer uses, but it allows you to add to it. It wouldn't matter if you were the original owner or not, the record stays with the truck. Let's say in your scenario the truck in question was an HD 4x4 which requires lubing the aft u-joint needle fitting on the fwd driveshaft every time you change the oil. Yes, it really does.

Let's say there was no documentation and no evidence (bone dry) that it had ever been done and it fails. Do you think the dealer would replace it under warranty? Now let's say you did use the maint tracker and documented that with every oil change. In which scenario do you think it have more of a chance of being covered? I think Corey is spot-on with his maint documentation practices, especially in a scenario like this one.

Redline 0w40 cold flow test. Not the best but Im guessing its a result of fewer VII’s than most.

I think going to run this straight next winter. ... subject to change on a whim.

And even just receipts might not be enough.....I can buy oil and filters until Im blue in the face. Will they ask me for proof that I actually changed it?

I feel like this is where Japan-based manufacturers are a little better than domestic. Not necessarily benefit of the doubt, but less apt to look for a way to weasel out of covering something.

Wow , 12,700 lb towing ??
Because of the heavier hitch crossmember or the +130ft lbs of TQ provided by the 48 volt start / stop generator ??

Not sure I like the start stop capabilities on a truck ...wonder what issues that's gonna Bing to a truck that someone actually uses as a truck ?
Wonder if the 19 Rams also have MDS ?? So MDS + Start Stop system gives how much mpg ?? [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]

Oh and composite UCAS ?? The UCA ball joints are popping out of stamped steel since 2013 , hope the composite works out better [emoji16]

Well, the HD gassers are rumored to be getting a heavier duty version of the 8-speed at some point, along with a bump up in HP and TQ for the HD 6.4. Would be awesome if true.
Just my opinion, anyone who regularly tows more than 11,000 pounds (and that may even be too generous) with a half ton really ought to consider a heavy duty. Sure the half ton can move the weight, but stability while doing so is a completely different story. I'm also sure there are a lot of differing opinions on that and to each his own.

I saw a video that stated it still has MDS and now the 48v motor with start stop.

Everything I saw in the video just made me feel so much better about having bought the truck I have as I would not want a 2019 in any forum , I dont like all the new tech and dont care for the looks.
I say if you buy one get 100k warrenty.

Are there even better oils then redline on the horizon? PAGS will likely be part of the oil formulations going forward, PAGS can out perform the esters in Redline. Read.

My wife's 2017 BMW has the start/stop feature and we both hate it. Fortunately, the system defaults to off when you start the car. The early systems defaulted to on but BMW had so many issues and complaints they changed it. If the system defaults to off in the new Rams then I would not care one way or the other. If it defaults to on or cannot be easily user disabled, I would move to an HD truck the next time around.
