Default Turbo 3.6l 1500?
A guy I know recently bought a 2014 1500 and he was telling me it was a 3.6l with a turbo. He said the first owner got the truck from Canada so I don't know if that makes a difference. I've looked it up on Google and it can't tell me anything. So I was wondering if you could get a 3.6l with a turbo from the factory?

Nope. Somebody got confused when they were cross-shopping with F-150s.

Yeah when he first told me about his truck he said it was a Eco boost. I told him that was only in the Ford pickups.

It doesn't help that RAM has the EcoDiesel, which is also a turbo V6. I'm sure plenty of buyers get confused.

the pstar V6 puts numbers close to the 4.7 V8 it replaced. more than enough for most people.

Yeah, I haul lots of stuff with my V6 and even haul around a skid loader with no problem. Gets me around the muddy job sites with ease and I still get better gas mileage then a V8.

With the 3.6L Ram 1500...you would get "crossover" vehicle fuel economy (low/mid-20's average), full-size truck interior size, and full-size truck payload. For a LOT of people out there (myself included)...the 3.6L would have made a LOT more sense (operating cost wise) than the 5.7L V-8.

The towing capacity is really the only thing that's sacrificed with the 3.6L. That being said, they'd be a perfect choice for a lot of people (someone that wants a truck, but doesn't want x < 20 MPG average).
