Hello again, I have a 2008 ram 1500 quad cab short bed. It is leveled abs I'm needing new tires.

So the question, can I fit 35x12.5 trail grapplers on the stock wheels with 1.25" wheel spacers (adapters). I plan on new wheels, but they're not in the budget at the moment.

Was looking at cooper 295/65r20 as well. But I'd rather have the wider tires if they'll fit. As I've mentioned before, I don't mind trimming the inner plastic liner if need be but would rather not trim the actual fenders if I don't have to.

If anyone knows for sure, I'd greatly appreciate it. I was supposed to buy a wheel and tire set, twice, but both people decided to back out or keep them. So I'm keeping stock for now.

With just a level you might have rubbing while turning

Rubbing on the plastic liner? Or the fender?

Plastic liner. If you use spacers you'll be fine if I remember correctly.

He wants to use 1.25" spacers(will probably have to trim his studs too) but I'm worried that the wheels will stick out too far and maybe rub fender at the pinch weld or maybe back side of bumper. Not positive but I think there is a chance. Hopefully somebody can confirm

Shouldn't have to trim the studs with the stock wheels because they have spaces that the old studs will fit into. Only on the stock wheels though.

Rubbing on the fender is what I was worried about too.

1.25" is the smallest spacer (adapter) you can get with its own lugs. I don't really care for regular spacers. Plus the 1.25" would put me at the same as a -12 offset aftermarket wheel.

Just a bump to see if anyone else with a definitive answer sees it.

Justinxxxx, I forget the numbers after his name on here, has a maroon 08 Laramie with bilstein 5100's (leveling kit) and 35" trail grapplers on fuel wheels with no or minimal rubbing if I remember right

Just that they were fuel hostages and I don't remember them sticking out much so they couldn't have much of a offset

Thank you so much, guys, for the help. It is greatly appreciated. Now I just need to decide between the nittos and cooper stt pros.

That's even the same color as mine lol.

Yea glad to help. I don't think you can go wrong with either of those tires. They're both good choices. My buddies have the coopers and I think they might be a tad noisier than my trail grapplers and you can feel the lugs more in my opinion but still a good option. I plan on getting the trail grapplers again here soon.

I just saw this thread lol, thank you guys for posting up the information for him.

I have absolutely no complaints about the trail grapplers. They are awesome tires and they seem to be wearing very well. They are expensive, but even considering the cost, when mine are worn out I'll probably be buying another set. But by the looks of things I've still got a while to go on the set I have now.

Yea I've got 4.5 years on mine right now and around 40k miles so far. They'll be getting replaced soon. Still pass inspection but I can feel puddles pull the truck more now that they're gettin down there and I don't like that, especially with my little one in with me.

So I bought a new set of 295/65 20 copper stt pros. I definitely had some trimming to do, but it was all plastic liner, with just a little of the metal behind it to be sure. Some of the front side of the liner as well, but not as much.

They're at 40 psi and the ride feels pretty much the same, with the obvious exception of the whine(not bad at all) and you can feel the knobbies on the tires. It does handle better with the wider stance.
