Ram 1500 rear diff?

So my diff is toast, 1500 4wd, 2004. My truck has a 91/4 with 355 open diff. I know the local scrap guy has a truck like mine right now, but not for long. Is there a way to tell from the vin# on his truck what he has, and if it has the trac lock in it. I don,t have time to go over and pull the cover off. Also really want a trac lock. Thanks.

You would have to run the VIN thru Dodge to get the breakdown of what the options were for that truck.

I don't know if there is anything external on the diff to verify what it has either. The best option is always to pull the cover and visually verify what you are getting.

Should be a sticker on the glove box door. Will tell you the ratio and and if its open or antislip.
