Since I have to get my tails replaced when the truck goes to the body shop, I was thinking of changing the tails from red to smoked. I've never seen the smoked in person so I don't really know how different they are from the red ones. Here's a pic of the red ones on my truck. What do you guys think? Would the smoked ones go better with my truck or should I just stick with the red ones?

If you're referring to the ones from recon/sonar that are sold as "smoked", those are merely a deeper red. There is nothing smoked about them. But I prefer them to the regular red.

If you are referring to VHT on yours, I'm not feeling it on your truck.

Here is a pair of smoked red recon/sonars-

I think she is referring to the actual smoked ones with no red. They are not black nor red nor VHT.

yeah, I was talking about the "smoked" sonar ones. I didn't want to do tint like vht on them. I was just wondering if the darker red of the smoked ones would look better on my truck than the brighter red ones.

Looks like the majority is for the darker ones so far.

I'm not sure. I haven't bought any off ebay. The ones I have are Sonars and they are very nice, no problems at all. Recon is another brand also, but tend to be pricey. The Sonars are about half the price of Recons.

The ones Wendy linked are the Sonar ones. They are recon clones for half the price. I run the "smoked" red ones on my truck.
