My ram is blowing hot, what steps should I take on the truck to bring back the cold air?

Shops local to me wanted between $60 and $100 to test. I picked up one of the $40 recharge kits at AutoZone a month ago and mine is still blowing nice and cold.

If a low refrigerant charge is the problem, a recharge may help out a little but that is not fixing the leak. That **** doesn't just disappear. You should figure out where it is going before you recharge it.

like jwheeler stated, also, if you hook up the gauges and the system is charged...you might be looking at a failed compressor/clutch.

Is the ac compressor kicking on? I bought a recharge kit and the clutch wasn't engaged even with ac on max. The wires on the compressor was loosing contact, so I fiddled with zip ties until I stayed on while I flicked it. Just something g to check that's free.

I had that problem in my 2004 a few weeks ago. Turned out to be the condenser fan motor was out. Turn your truck on, turn on the a/c, and look under the hood to see if the condenser fan is spinning. If it is, then check your freon, then your compressor. That's cheapest to most expensive order.
