There is a lot to criticize about the inability to tune the 03 PCM, but you have to hand it to them that they can compensate to a wide degree without specific tuning. The AeroForce Interceptor gage would makes a good addition to a wide band/fuel pressure gage. With these gages you would know your AFR and the AeroForce would give you your Fuel Trims among a lot of other sensor inputs. The AFR can be adjusted by using a PSC1-003 and fuel trims can be brought into line by adjusting the fuel pressure. The idle can be raised using the High Idle Mod. I did a little research and found the 03 injectors have a different P/N then the 04+ injectors and may actually flow more than the newer injectors due to operating at a lower fuel pressure. But unfortunately you have to have gages to see what the engine is doing. Great swap, well done.

In the last two years there has been a lot of changes making the 03 able to fully tune using a 05 pcm. This will allow cmr tuning to manage pretty much anything you throw at it. I hit the wall when I installed a supercharger, the 03 just couldn't tune boost. The pcm swap is fairly straightforward forward and I should have done it years ago. The mechanical side of the install is also straight forward and should be able to be done by anyone who can install an engine. As for accessories you can use the truck accessories and it would drop in the same as stock. The other problem with higher horsepower trucks using the 545RFE trans is there isn't a bullet proof unit available and you will kill it if not driven carefully. The fix for that is to swap out the 545rfe for one that can take the heat. I choose a 46rh built by Martin Seine to handle 800hp. They cost the same as a built 545rfe but will last where the 545 won't. Good luck..

Do you have any pictures of the brackets you had to make for the conversion to the different intake setup? I'd love to see what you did since I want to switch to a different manifold.

Have you looked at the OCP manifold? It's has a old school look and works flawlessly with boost. I have one on Red but it's buried under the intercooler and can't be seen.

I've never been a big fan of nitrous, to me it has the feel of temporary horsepower, where boost is always there with the push of the pedal.

Why not both? Boosted spray has always been a lot of fun and much better IATs on the bottle compared to my W/M kit, plus more power.

Too hard on the tires from running over broken engine pieces...

I run what can only be described as a "****-ton" of nitrous on my drag car and if setup correctly, it's no more dangerous than boost at the same horsepower levels. Of course, setup correctly, it's no cheaper than boost either......

When using a small shot just to cool IATs, the argument has always been that high IATs are much worse than the small amount of nitrous that you're using to cool them down. Of course, I'll always be the one to say that everything comes down to tuning. If the internals can handle the power levels that you're creating, as long as the numbers are good, there should be no problems.

But with any power adder, if one thing goes wrong in the system........ it doesn't matter which one you're running, bad things happen.

I'm not opposed to running nitrous, i just like the idea of always having the power adder on demand like Greg said. I know it's alot more money for F/I, but hell I shouldn't of bought this truck if I was trying to be cost effective an fast lol. Is there still supercharger kits sold for these trucks?

I have nitrous on my drag car, so it's always available....lol I would want boost on a street vehicle. If available, I would prefer a roots/twin screw style supercharger over a centrifugal for a driver, but any boost is better than no boost.

Why wait, Charonblk has a nice kit ready and waiting , if it's still available.....
Just gonna throw that out there. If I had still had my truck , it would be boosted. Now I wanna boost my scat!!!
