I have a 2007 Ram 2500 with a 5.9 diesel, and it keeps burning the ends off the muffler. Since I've had it, I have had to replace the muffler twice. Would there be any drawbacks (performance, mpg, etc...) to replacing the muffler (not the whole exhaust system, just from the resonator back) with a straight pipe?
