Hello all,

I'd just like to leave my input on my semi-new Superchips Cortex. I finally got a chance to use it since I got it yesterday when I had to do some towing between Abilene and Burkburnett (about a 320 mile round trip). I left the towing tune off on the way there pulling a 5x8 Uhaul empty and got about 12.2 MPG using the stock Tow/Haul option and on the way back with the same trailer and about 600 extra pounds worth of crap I utilized the Superchips Towing Tune and got about 14.5 MPG without the stock Tow/Haul option on. In the end, that little thing is a big help for towing/hauling. Just thought I throw that out there if anyone was considering buying a SuperChips!

I've used the 87 Octane Tune, the 91 Octane Tune, and I've bought the transmission tune as well and have used both the SuperChips default Trans tune and my own custom tune on the trans and there is DEFINITELY a difference with the trans tune, she definitely shifts better and smoother. I can say that the Trans Tune is worth the money spent on it. Between the 87/91 Octane tunes, there were differences in MPG and HP but not enough for me to keep filling up with 91. With the way I drive around town, my average MPG with the 87 and Trans tunes is roughly 16-17 and highway on a long stretch can be roughly 16-20 depending on speeds. I honestly don't remember what I was getting before the tuner but I know it wasn't that high. Overall I'm glad that I got the tuner.

Have you ran 2 tanks of the 91 tune to get an average on that? Tends to show about a mile better gain unless your stop and go bumper to bumper alot. Glad you like the tuner.

Yes I have, I've had the tuner for about a year now I've just never used the towing tune till now. I liked the 91 Octane tune but my wallet is usually tight so I just skimp out and get 87 Octane, and with prices for gas on just 87 fluctuating from $3.20-$4.00 here I just stay a cheapo. In the end, I'd probably use the 91 for long highway trips and 87 for in town because Abilene isn't small but its not big either and there are a lot of stops. I have started traveling a bit more recently though, so I'll test it out again and post up how it works out for my truck.

Yeah, I remember seeing gas here almost that cheap when I was a wee lad. Oh to have those prices back...
