no need to pay $5 a quart for valvoline. Truth is, all ATF+4 are completely identical, just rebranded. Its a chrysler specifc formula that chrysler developed. In order for oil companies to produce it, they have to follow chryslers exact recipe. WalMarts $2 Super-tech ATF+4 or whatever its called is the EXACT same stuff as valvoline.
This is true...ATF +4 is owned by Chrysler...in order for us to use the name and formula, it must pass tests by Chrysler and we pay them $$$ to use the ATF +4 name...much like DEXRON with GM...
We make our own ATF +4..we actually make 1/3 of Advance Auto Parts branded oil/ATF...Our Mercon V ATF is bought from Valvoline and we rebrand it accordingly to whatever brand we are packaging.
