Anyone using the Kenwood ddx 9904s headunit

I have an 13 express with the basic sound system. Plan on having this truck for the long haul so want to put something quality in there. I’m pretty set on the kenwood ddx9904s because it has satellite, hd radio, and something new that I just learned a compacitive screen.
I know this system is pretty new, but has anyone used it yet?

I haven't used it, but it's on my list for a stereo upgrade. Guys at my local shop rave on it over much more expensive radios. The Datalink Maestro is a super cool feature.

I use its predecessor: 9902S . Awesome head unit. It did require some double-din cutting, btw. It is bigger in the back than the Ram head units. But for the reasons you listed, this was a no-brainer. It even powers up my iphone 6 via USB/lightning. Siri, Sirius, GPS antenna, ext mic, 5v pre-amp out x6, HDMI, and input for reverse camera. Win!

I can get the ddx9704s for $550 which I believe is just not the excelon version of the ddx9904s. The ddx9904s is $700.

I think you will like it. Crutchfield also sells wiring harnesses to make it a lot easier.

Depending on vehicle model, it allows you to keep all vehicle settings, plus setup gauge readings along with extra camera inputs. Basically, a lot of cool little add-ons.

Yeah I don’t think I’m going to get it, I don’t think it would add much for me except for engine gauges. I have the basic express model

I Dave the kenwood DDX9704s and I LOVE it. Ridiculous all the stuff it can do. It’s like an “Alexa” in your truck if you like that? Get the maestro so it will show your vehicle info across your radio ex tire pres, climate controls etc. then you download that android auto and you can use your phone gps and it will show across your radio screen. Radio is ridiculous.

What model ram do you have? Did you have all that stuff on your radio prior to installing the idatalink?

YES.....my old radio showed nothing. It didn’t even have a cd.

Shows tire pres, shows your climate control, ton of stuff that is on message board. It’s pretty cool. Do you NEED it....NO but a cool function.
