I picked up my 2015 SLT Quad last month and love it! I call it a base model was a rental so not alot of goodies which is fine! It has the U Connect Radio I assume the smaller one 5.0? Anyone know if the 2015 SLT comes pre wired from the factory as I know alot of cars use 1 harness to help keep cost down!
Is there anyway I can find out for sure?
Thanks Rich

No it is not prewired. You would need to buy the complete backup camera kit. You will also need to have the sales code flashed to your truck by the dealer in order for it to work if you want to install the OEM unit. There is a writeup on it in the 4th Gen DIY. It is a popular add on.

Just installed the OEM kit in my 2014 2500 SLT 4x4 last week. Just flashed the radio at the dealer today, $135.00, I know others have had it done for free or cheaper, but not my luck. Steep price but it is what it is. Super simple install! Watch this well done video on youtube.

Mine works like a champ! No back up lines, but didn't have them on my tundra either. Very happy with the install so far. Hope that helps. :)

Yes I hooked up the purple wire to the bcm c-45 orange dark blue wire. I installed everything per the instructions given in the kit.

Look at post 10 of CptWing's OEM Camera Install thread. I have all the relevant post's linked in one spot so you don't have to go hunting through all of them.

If you have an RA2 radio, it should look like the one in post 8, and you should have the Phone/VR buttons on the left side of steering wheel, Bluetooth, and a Mirror with 2 Mics on it.

You either did not get on the correct BCM wire (BCM C5/E-45), there is an issue with that wire at one of the new camera harness connectors, or you may need a software update for your Radio. RLK's RA2 had this issue.

- If you are 100% sure about your wiring, then consider a SW update via the Uconnect website.
For the RA2:
_____ SW version 2.3.20 may not display the lines.
_____ SW version 5.2.20.1 has been confirmed to do so (and has option to turn them on/off)

Great info all in one place. I am fairly confident on the wiring being correct, but you never know. I do have the RA2 radio. I will check the software version and see if I need to do the upgrade. Hope that is the problem with the grid lines. Getting to the connector was a pain! Thanks to everyone who has contributed this post in the past. :)

I did the install with an RA2 5.0" per the instructions and I had no active gridlines. .... I troubleshot everything , then I installed a software update and BAM I had the grid lines and on option in safety Parkview settings to turn them on & off ...
You have checked to see if your settings in safety Parkview the ACTIVE GRIDLINES are turned on right ?

Hope this helps !

Checked my software version. It was up to date. Turned off the grid lines function and turned back on. Everything is working perfect. Shows grid lines and they turn with the steering wheel. Awesome upgrade. Thank you all!
