I used Frost King Duct Insulation. It runs about 18.00 dollars a roll you can get at Home Depot or Lowes. It was cheap enough that I doubled up everywhere I installed it. My friend was amazed how quiet it was while driving. I am happy with it. There are a few videos on Youtube that maybe helpful.

I used Second Skin sound deadoning on my old '05 Ram. Worked pretty good I thought and it was rated better in 3rd party testing. It sticks well, stays stuck even in high heat, and does not degrade over time.

Buy from Amazon. Dynamat is pretty cheap there.

RaamMat seems very fairly priced. I will be using Ballistic from Metra just because I get it dirt cheap.

I use Stinger Road Kill with great success. In a pinch I had to use a local big box shop's deadener which was Rockford Fosgate's version of deadener...it was identical to Road Kill which pleased me, but I got killed on the price (local retail)
I personally think as long as it is butyl based with an aluminum backing, you should be good.
For the love of Gawd, do not use asphalt based stuff from home depot, Lowes, etc...those products have a specific purpose and it's not for sound deadening....
Just my opinion, but for me, it's not a rational option.

If you go with an MLV product as well, it's best to have a decoupler involved in the equation...like CCF
When I did my doors, after deadening with tiles, CCF, I could not get my door panel to fit correctly, Luxury Liner PRO was simply too think...The standard Luxury Liner worked better as it was not as think as the PRO.

i thought luxury liner pro came with the CCF already joined with the MLV.
Where as the luxury liner still needed CCF to be used with it.
Is this incorrect?

thanksfor the tip about the fit issues.

I have yet to do my truck, just roadkill, for now. was planning on doing it fairly soon, though, and appreciate your experience.

Did it make a noticeable improvement over just tiles?

I used fatmat. It has a smell that dissipated after a week or so. Seems to work well.

That's my understanding as well with the Luxury Liner vs Luxury Liner Pro. I used the Pro on mine and did the outer door skin with the CLD tiles and Pro and just used the CLD tiles on the inner door skin. I'm running a door pod with an 8" mid bass driver and a 5.25" active system and the door is still like a tomb from the outside with the second skin products.

I would say 72sq ft should get you almost all the way there.
