Voltmeater wont always work. use a double A or triple A battery and attach wires to the battery and then to the OEM speaker and see which way the speaker moves. If it move outward than the plus side an the battery is the plus side on he speaker than you can determine on the plug if you still have the OEM plug on the wire side which is plus. It will work everytime.

Just leave it attached long enough to see the speaker move.

DC battery is the easiest way to check the polarity of the speaker. Out of phase sucks.

FYI the reason a multi-meter won't work is the audio signal from that amp is AC so measuring the leads either way will give you the same reading. I had a car audio buddy could never figure this out. Although, if the amp is wired to 'common' ground then if you measure one of the unknown leads to ground (frame or some sort of 0V reference). The one that gives you no reading is the negative. But, the leads have to be disconnected from the speaker for this to work.

Nothing to figure sorry

Sorry nothing to figure, I cut off factory connectors for doors, LB3711 told me bout the battery trick. One w/ yellow tracer is + and violet - my 3.5 came today but gonna get pigtails can't get crimpers in to crimp butt splices, better to leave factory plugs. The pigtails only cost 8 bucks
