What is this connector for ??

I just upgraded my steering wheel to the VR/PHONE buttons & audio controls , while doing so with the top cover off I noticed this unused Blue connector installed in a dummy plug receptacle it has two wires ??

Gear shifter maybe? I know on my sport I can shift gears about the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel.

Ummm , maybe so , thanks for your response ! My shift is on the column , not the wheel ... I was wishing it was heated steering wheel ! Lol pretty sure that's a difficult task (per captwing) that guys always on time with his info !

I've got 5 or 6 more connectors not being used under the dash on drivers side above the footwell are , any idea what those are for ?

Hmmm, it could be for the heated steering wheel as well, but you would need the heating element in the wheel from the start.

But I'm not sure.
Here's what the sport wheel controls look like, plus the volume and skip buttons on the back.

I don't have the leather heated wheel , my wheel has the same controls as your LESS the +- shift buttons above the cruise .

Can you actually select gears in the Sport? On my express those are used to limit the top gear the transmission will shift to. I originally thought I could use it to select gears but was sorely mistaken and it turned on in second gear while I was traveling at around 65...

Per Captwing the heated wheel requires replacement of the clock spring assy ++ , I think it's a bit more involved than just plug & play ? Not sure though , if my truck is prewired for the heated wheel maybe that's plug and play ? I put.my multimeter on it and got no power with key fob position ,turning on heated mirrors , door open close or engine running . Whatever it's for maybe it has to be flashed in ?

Don't think so , I have fully functional audio controls that I just installed . See post #1 above .

No, only does as you posted. Limits top gear. If you turn it on while going, it should go to the gear your tranny is currently in. Now if you keep downshifting it will keep downshifting too.

When I've used mine (towing ) it will limit the top gear , but it will continue to downshift if I choose !

not sure about the one on the steering column, but the ones in the driver side footwell might be for adjustable pedals?
