So I've changed my mind again on what I'm going to throw in my truck sub wise and I wanted to see what the audio guru's on here thought. I decided not to go with 2 10's because I do use the storage space under my driver seat a lot and that seat probably spends most of its time in the up position anyway. I also feel like I really don't need two and I don't want to spend that much money on two either. I have settled on a CVX102 and when I ran the amplifinder on sonics electronix, stick with a full kicker system, it recommended either the Kicker IX1000.1 or the Kicker DX1000.1. The IX is the high quality one and the DX is the low quality one. A difference of $250 between the two and I am trying to save some cash so I'm planning on going with the DX.

The only thing I don't know now at this point is what else do I need exactly and what recommendations do you guys have? I know I need a installation kit but do I also need a capacitor? Looking at the install kit suggestions for amp power... sonics recommends 4, 2, or 0/1 gauge kits. I was thinking of going with a 2 to have the happy medium since it's recommended for 1000-1500 watt amps. What do you guys think?

Yea, the thought crossed my mind too but out of all the kicker amps sonics has, it only recommended the two 1000's...I originally looked at a 750 but then I tried the amplifinder they got and got those.

Convert, for now.

small
Get the DX500.1, and a dual 4 ohm sub, plenty, and a 4 gauge amp installation kit is plenty. You'll LOVE that CVX :D

# of times I've said "Ooo I have too much amplifier" - 0
# of times I've said "Son of a *****, I need more amplifier" - a lot

You can always turn a big amp down, you can't turn a small amp up past 11.

It is also Easier to blow a subwoofer (or any speaker) with an amp that is too small, if your pushing it too hard it will start clipping and kaboom.
