I just put in an aftermarket radio with a dedicated reverse camera wire to connect to the trucks reverse wire. Does anyone know how you determine which wire on the truck to connect it to?

The manual that came with your head unit will tell you what to connect to

It doesn't give the specific wire color of the wire going into the shifter knob.

Without knowing what wiring harness adapter you have all I can show you is what wire off of the head unit is for the back up camera. Since you have a nav unit you should have a nav capable wiring harness adapter which would have a reverse trigger wire. So without more info this is all I can show you. If you are going to tap into the reverse signal wire by the shifter than the website I gave you will tell you what one it is.

Fro m the tech authority website I did not find the wiring for the shifter knob. As for the adapter, is this what you are talking about: Axxess XSVI-6523-NAV Wiring Interface?

Connect the reverse wire from the head unit and the wiring harness and that should be the trigger for the camera

note you MUST connect the reverse cam input from the radio to the wire as long as the cam itself. sometimes i prefer to actually hook the cam power up to a ignition wire instead of this wire. sometimes depending on the cam it take a couple seconds to "focus" so if you go with this wire its not always in focus when you go right into reverse.

One downfall to that is your camera will always be on, shortening the lifespan of the camera.
