Has anyone used or listened to the Kicker L7 8"? Yes I have looked at the options of using the 10" and no I dont care to. The cubic foot that require is 1.25. It is far to much to use with out doing some metal work and cutting the lip under the seat to make a big custom box. So the 8" would be a smarter choice for me.

I have not heard the 8" but I have heard the L7 12". it hit real hard but not the cleanest sub. The 8" might sound a little tighter tho. They are good subs.

just a suggestion, check out sundown audio as well. they make some really good subs for the money. they hit hard and wasn't sloppy. I have used them in the past and was really impressed with them.

You can do up to the L710", we have done them in our trucks under the seat. The sound is more dependent on the enclosure, sloppy could be the enclosure. Ive seen many L78's get down with 500+ watts. If you can do a ported box, even better.

I had 2 12" L7s in a previous vehicle. L7s in general are louder than a similar round sub. The 2 12s I had were loud as hell. They sounded good. An 8 in a good box would probably do pretty well.

What i have right now is a prefab box. I know the issue with my 12" is air space. I seen a really nice set up with 4 8". Just have to do some metal work under the seat.

I have a 1500 watt kicker amp at the moment. I was also thinking of doing the 2 tens under the backseat and one in the jumper seat. For the box under the back seat i was thinking of doing something like this for the L7 8.

If you have small sealed, while I know a little more pricey, the Q Class L78 will work in a really small enclosure. They are only available at select Q Class dealers though.

I have an L712 in my Ram powered by a JL 500/1 and that thing gets down. I e always been a fan of smaller subs. IMO the bass is tighter. I went with a 12 because I wanted to get the most bass I could. L7 IMO are the way to go. I plan on putting an 8 in my wife's Tahoe. Attached are some pics of my enclosure for my L7.
