been trying to install my aeroforce gauge and i just cant seem to find a key on wire that has 12Vs. anyone know of a good place to hook the wire up to?
everything is hooked up except the 12V wire.

tried to go to the fuse box but couldnt find one.
was thinking wireing it up to the cig lighter or maybe taping into the Cutout wire.
any help would be appreciated

thanks

Pull out the Radio and there are 3 larger wires. Black Ground, Yellow Back-up Power, and Red is your Key-On Power. Takes 2 minutes to remove the Face (1 screw bottum Right where the plastic hook is on the surround bezel) and 4 screws for the radio unit itself. Remainder (plastic Bezel) just pops out with tabs.

I would say yes. The Fuse that stands alone in your Fuze Box called Radio Group and has a Funny Black insert is what runs that wire and it is a 20 Amp Fuze. You can use a test light to confirm that red wire and tap into it and run a wire over and up to the pod.

So you want 12V Key on? and not 24/7 Power which on the radio (yellow) is for the Clock inside the Radio.

just for Key on. and you dont think the cig lighter would work? seems a lot easier to tap into then trying to wire it all up to the radio. got it all apart though. just wanna make sure all is safe before i hook it up.

I Miss Read your previous. You say you need two 12v sources?

If just one with key on then I suppose the cig lighter is good too! It has a standalone fuse with I believe 20 Amp?. If you do not smoke or use the lighter then i say go for it, otherwise when/if you blow the lighter fuse you will loose the guages.

2 12v on the same guage. So one for the Guage and the other maybe for the Light Bulb or Illumination would make sense I guess. If so the Bulb Takes minimal juice then don't worry about it. When you are sure of the wire Pull the Fuse when hooking up + just to be safe and assuming the grounding for your guage is done too! Good luck.

its not actually for the gauge, its for the A/F ratio attachment. im guessing the 12v wires are for the sensor and maybe the calibration box? not sure

I connected my gauge to the cigarette lighter. Works like a charm.

So the gauge is working for everything except the A/F read out?

Im gonna have to see if I have the packet still at my house but I dont have the A/F in mine through the AI, mines a stand alone. I know Ryan is running the split setup in his, maybe shoot him a PM and see if its a weird hickup on it.
