If my key isn't in the exact right spot when I pull it out my a/c will run. Can I fix it by just replacing the key cylinder or could it be something else.

My 2004 does the same thing. I always have to remember to turn off the fan when I turn off the truck or I end up with a dead battery. Happened twice so far. I asked the dealer about it when I took my truck in for the air bag recall, they said the only fix is to replace the ignition cylinder.
