air bag code set

2012 Ram 1/2 ton Big Horn 4 dr has code B0020-13 left side seat deployment circuit open. Truck has had clock spring (or same wiring?) recall performed but light stayed on. Dealer wanted big fee to diagnose further. Several other trucks in my area exhibit have same issue but local techs have no answers.

I'd recommend taking it to the dealer for diagnosis. It is cheaper then just guessing at parts. The airbag in the seat has nothing to do with the clock spring. It can be an airbag, the airbag module or the wiring in between. Without an airbag load simulator, it can be tough to diag.

Likely the seat airbag harness has loose pins or a fault with the airbag itself. The harness itself is the most common failure. Under the driver seat, look for a yellow connector. Unplug it and plug it back in, if the light goes out then I'd take a wager it's the harness.

Easy fix,
Disconnected bat,
Find yellow connecter
Under driver seat, remove it n run 18g 4" 2×wires
