I noticed my 2011 had some ticking going on yesterday when I fired it up. Less than 1100 miles on it, too. Guess I'll keep listening for it.

My ticking goes away once the oil pressure goes up. Only happens in the morning or after sitting all day. Probably only lasts a fraction of a second. I thought it was noticeable because I let the fuel pump charge and computer to boot a couple of seconds before cranking it over. That and almost always windows down.

That sounds more like dry start, rather than a manifold prob.

i thought my was an oil problem at first....but with the hood open with you head near the drivers side exhaust manifold it is an exhaust leak and yes it only lasts for 1-3-5 seconds and not every start..... your local dealer knows about it just tell em :)

I'll definitely be taking mine in after our Vegas trip...I never thought to mention it on here but I've heard it only a handful of times and always when my truck was started at an odd angle. Good find.

Wait so I'm confused here... I know my ticking is oil related/dry start. So is that what most of you are hearing?

Maybe I'm wrong but most exhaust or header leaks I've seen are either there all the time or after warm up. Seems more probable that most are hearing what I'm hearing than for so many to have manifold issues.

I have 2011 with 900 miles and I have the 4.7 engine.

I have heard it from day one. Ticking noise from driver side exhaust manifold area.

Told dealer about it and they said it is normal???? I told him if it is normal, then why is it not doing it on the passenger side. He walked away from me.

I hear it all the time, cold, hot, whatever.

I can hear it over the FM 40 series muffler, when the window is open.

Perhaps I need to check out another dealer.

Mine started making a noise earlier this week. The noise goes away after the engine has warmed up. When I brought it in for an oil change the next day, the service advisor looked up at me and said "you've got an exhaust manifold leak".

It seems they know that 2010 Hemi's have either bad bolts, or 'over torque' issues. Replacement bolts and gasket are on order. Kinda disheartening that with only 34,000 miles this is an issue. My '03 HEMI went over 182,000 with no issues...
