Hello, just looking for recommendation.
I've searched around and not really finding this info specifically.
Just looking to find out what is the recommended oil to use for my truck to do an oil change. I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Pentastar Crew Cab 4X4.

I'm not sure what viscousity/weight oil to use and also which brand.
Not sure if can stay mineral (assuming thats what my dealer has been using) or if should go synthetic?
Also what are good oil filters for this truck, I was just going to go to dealer and buy OEM I suppose unless there are good recommendation on oil filter brands.

Thanks for any info.

From the owners manual:

Engine Oil Viscosity – 3.6L/5.7L Engines (1500
Models Only)
MOPAR SAE 5W-20 engine oil or equivalent Pennzoil®
or Shell Helix® is recommended for all operating temperatures.
This engine oil improves low temperature
starting and vehicle fuel economy.
The engine oil filler cap also shows the recommended
engine oil viscosity for your vehicle. For information on
engine oil filler cap location, refer to “Engine Compartment”
in “Maintaining Your Vehicle” for further information.

NOTE: SAE 5W-30 engine oil approved to Fiat
9.55535-S1 or Fiat 9.55535-S3 may be used when SAE
5W-20 engine oil meeting MS-6395 is not available.

I use 5-30 Pennzoil platinum with a Mopar filter. Change every 7000 miles.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Yeah I checked the manual that night and saw the recommended Pennzoil.
Went and got the platinum synthetic and the Mopar filter. Good to go.

Cheers!
