I'll be replacing the rotors on my 99 in the near future and after reading through some tutorials I'm puzzled. They all warn against "separating" the wheel bearings for some reason. Why exactly is this? Wheel bearings separate from the race on every other roller bearing ever made. I'm also wondering how I'm supposed to pack the wheel bearings while the hub is off if I can't take the hub apart to get to the bearing.

I don't see why I couldn't clean everything thoroughly, pack the bearings and then re-assemble. I may be missing something huge here, so I thought I'd ask before I ruin a $100 hub.

Thank you!

Stick to just doing the rotor. Don't **** with the hub unless it's bad, the info posted above is dead on

Makes sense now. Didn't think it was a sealed bearing. They don't make any noise so as long as they're smooth I wont bother with a new hub.

Thanks!
