Okay, so I just bought a 2000 Ram 2500 4wd. I want to lift it and get some bigger tires. I don't wanna just throw it together, I wanna make sure I get it right. I've never done anything like this, just looking for some input on where to start really. Should I find tires first and then look for a lift to fit? or vice versa? Any input is appreciated!

Welcome to RF! You made a great choice going 2500. The best way to plan is decide on a tire size you wanna run, then build towards that. I wouldn't buy tires until youre lifted.

Good general quick guide to lift and tire size is
1. Level-3" lift = 33s, 35s with right wheels
2. 4-5" lift= 35s
3.5"+= 37s+

Google pics of what you want it to kinda look like and go from there. Also search the forum here because everything you need to know has been answered multiple times

You could run those as it sits(especially on a 2500), I'd just look leveling it if thats as big as you're wanting
^^^What he said, if that's as big as you wanna go then throw a level on the front and your good to go. I would recommend getting a -12 offset on your wheels.

I run 305/70/16 bfgs on a 3in spacer with stock wheels with minimum scrubbing. If I had half an inch more offset on my wheels they wouldn't scrub at all. Word to the wise a 3in level will not level your truck it will still jack it up in the front a little. If you run a 3in spacer up front do an add a leaf in the rear to compensate.

Will the offset cause other issues? wheel bearings, steering, etc?

It will speed up their wear yes but not too bad especially on a 2500. They're wear items anyways.

My buddy ran 35x11.5x15 on his 12v for a week while his cousins truck was getting worked on (cousins wheel/tire combo). He just had 2"lift springs on front to compensate for a plow. Could barely turn lol
