Whats the biggest tire I can fit with a 2.5inch lift??

So as the title says Im wondering what the biggest tire is I can fit with a 2.5 inch lift. Im running 285/75/16 right now on aftermarket ion alloy rims. I have a ton of room in both front and rear. Im looking at 315/75/16s. Can I fit those or are those way to big?

You could run a 305/70/16 no problem on a wheel with enough backspacing. I had 315's on stock rims and they rubbed the c-arms on lock. I wouldnt run a 315 without at least 4.10 gears, 4.56 would be ideal. To much extra drive train stress with stock 3.55. 4.10 gears plus 315/75/16 wasnt a very fun combo when I ran it IMO.

I had 315 tires on 3rd gen 17s on my 1997 Ram 2500 stock suspension. Clears the wells fine but as johnn stated it rubs when cranking the wheel. I fixed it by adding 2 inch wheel spacers from rough country. If you got a 1500 it might be different as I believe a 2500 sits about 2 inches higher from stock. And I also had 4.10 gears front and rear. Any less of a gear and your speedo will be off and you'll notice drag at take off.

you could pry get some 34's in there with some minor trimming, maybe 35's with some fender liner removal

I have 35x12.50x17. The rims came from an 04. They fit nicely but if you max out the wheel turning, some scraping will go on. That's if you only max out the turns fully turned left or right.

Whats the biggest tire I can fit with a 2.5inch lift??
