Hey im getting a zone 6/5 lift. i plan on leaving out the preload spacer and setting 5100's to 2.1 or 1.4. whats a good tire size to get? id prefer something taller and skinnier. i was hoping to get away with a 35 or metric 35 but will this look too small?

what about factory 20" wheels, can i run them? if not, what offset would i need with a 20" wheel so not to rub, but also not stick out any further than necessary?

maybe i should look at a lightweight 37? i have 355 gears so i cant get too crazy. im not sure if rubber or wheel is heavier in this unsprung weight, maybe i should drop down to an 18 inch wheel?

thoughts?

You’ll definitely want 37s with 8” of lift. I’d be planning on a regear, especially if you ever use the truck for anything.

well i did not want any re-gearing. i thought with 355's i should be ok with 6 inch lift. especially if i aim for lighter tires maybe?

its not an 8 inch lift. it would be 5 inches in the rear, and 7.1 in the front more or less. im assuming. thats with omitting the 1 inch preload spacer from the kit and running 5100's at 2.1,

ive decided to go with 35's of some kind.

what kind of spacer, smaller the better, would i need to run a 12.5 or 12.8 inch wide tire with zone lift and zone uca's?

would a 1/4" spacer do the trick? hub centric right?

If you can’t afford to regear you should either not be doing this at all till you can afford it, or maybe do a 4” kit with 35s.

i should not be getting a 6 inch lift and 35's with 355 gears?

but a 4" lift with 35's is good though on 355's?

explain to me how this works..

7” of lift on 35s will definitely look off. But 37s are too much for your gearing, even 35s is questionable imo. A smaller lift will make 35s look right at home.

a conundrum, for sure.

if i go with a 35" tire, im really getting a 34.5" tire and this would be a little on the small side.

if i go with a 37" tire im really getting a 36.5 inch tire and this is a little too big for my needs and gearing.

so i think im going with a 295/65r20, and choose a model that specs out at the taller end of available tires. Im looking at the mickey thompson baja legend exp which would be 35.4" tall, and on the skinnier side which is what I was looking for. I'm also hoping that by running an 11.7 or so inch wide tire, that i will not need spacers.

thoughts?

looks good to me. and the MT baja tires are 35.4", ones in this pic are 35.1"3.jpeg

37's with the Zone 6/5 looks just perfect in my opinion, fills the wheel wells very nicely.
Cost of tires are a con though

I'm running Michelin Defender LTX M/S LT295/65R20's on my stock 20" rims and all I have are 5100's all around with the fronts set to 2.1" raised, on stock front UCA's and all four stock springs.

This tire size equates to a 35" OD and I have zero rub issues with full turn stop-to-stop.

Excellent ride and full control with zero issues.

*Edit* I have stock 3.21 rear gears and my 19' runs flawlessly and gets great mileage. I mostly run highway as my career has me all over Ontario on projects.

I'm also personally not a fan of spacers. This size of tire pokes out well on the stock hubs and looks fantastic IMPO.

I have a fat finger width between the inner tire side and my UCA outer edge with my LT295/65R20's.

Any wider a tire and it's a real gamble if there would be enough safe space without the use of a spacer not to rub on the front UCA outer edge. Again, for me a spacer is a no go. I personally don't like to extend a stance on parts that have the potential to add a margin of error and gap for safety. Not condemning anyone using spacers, but for me the juice ain't worth the squeeze ;)
